Wally Cassidy is a photographer originally from Dublin but now based in Limerick. He started shooting street photography during the last recession in 1989. He walked the streets of Dublin for four years shooting the underbelly of Irish society including heated protests, anarchic punks, falling horsemen & dogs ready to pounce.
Wally moved to Athlone during the Celtic Tiger to work on building sites. He picked up the camera again when he walked past a shop window and saw the Fuji x100, it was love at first sight. Wally released a book in 2014 ‘The Other Half Lives’ photos of Dublin 89-93.
