Ben Schreibman is an award winning photographer, musician, writer, English teacher, and entrepreneur based in Mexico City. Originally from Upstate New York, he mainly works in the context of fine art/social documentary photography and has currently been documenting Latin America, particular Mexico, for the past 3 years. Trained as a solo guitarist, he is able to incorporate his background in graceful improvisation into his compositions.
His work has been published by BBC World News, as well as Mexican publications i.e. Millenio, La Prensa. He also works as a commercial photographer and takes on commissions periodically. In addition to this he is also the co-founder/director at The Atlantic School of English based in the heart of Mexico City. He exclusively uses analogue Leica and Nikon cameras and lenses for all his personal as well as commercial productions.
His photographs seek out the surreal and visually powerful moments in ordinary life as well reflecting the social issues of Latin American society.
